Takers take. That's what they know how to do.
I was struck by a lot of things in this story, but one thing stood out. This quote:
"He's sponsoring a bill that would stop lottery winners from continuing to cash in on food assistance."
The fact that such an obvious thing would need an actual bill passed is absolutely frightening. It shows a system and culture of dependency so far gone that we need to pass new laws to fix the damage. We are in big trouble.
