I stumbled onto this story yesterday. I forgot about it in the midst of my heated exchange with Billy Moonbat. What is Carrier IQ? It is software that is hidden and concealed on your phone. It not only turns your smartphone into a tracking device, but it records the keystrokes you make. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrier_IQ

This is really disturbing stuff. It violates the law. But what is really odd is that this software was installed by big companies with shit hot lawyers who are supposed to know about laws like illegal wiretapping. Anyone who thought differently is naive...one of the reasons I simply don't want a cell phone. Well, that, and I just don't want to be available to everyone all of the time. Hey, that's what they made answering machines for, right?

Was It Worth the Trouble, Mr. Trump?

 Several years ago, as Ann Coulter (2016) was being laughed at for predicting the Trump presidential win, I was reading a piece about why working-class America was supporting a billionaire. Late night, didn't get home until 2 a.m. A couple of weeks ago, I was reading some interesting stuff about societies and how they eventually crumble and implode. More than a few people have postulated that the first things to go wanting are values, morals, and integrity. This was first proposed by Socrates and then expanded on by Plato as they spoke of virtue as moral excellence. How are people supposed to understand the importance of virtue if your society doesn't teach it and your leaders don't possess it? Not only do we lack any type of "leadership by example" but when was the last time you actually heard anyone, anywhere, describe a President or a  Congressman as honest?  If all you ever see is this current day "dog eat dog mentality" from your leaders doesn't that become the standard?
