So, in your best estimation, how long can they keep this Ship Of Fools affloat? Minus a Middle East blowout-What is a realistic time frame for collapse? I've been preparing, but I'm a Nurse, not an Economist...

That is the million dollar question Lisa.
In the past, when timing bear markets and shorting- I have always been 6 mo. to 1.5 years too soon- I am always wrong. I under estimate the markets ability to extend this bullshit. In the case of collapse, they will do everything humanly possible, deceptive and dishonest to avoid the inevitable. I expect it to occur in my remaining lifetime- my best guess is we are 2-5 years out. By that time, everyone won't suspect something is wrong- they will feel it and know it. Don't underestimate this country's willingness to kick off some big ass war to try and draw us out of it. Really. They will become very desperate.
When I read 2-5 years-My first thought was "Fuck Me"! The slower the deterioration the greater the pain and suffering! War is a risky bet due to all the military operations we have alraedy in play...
My gut has been telling me that we'll be lucky to avoid collapse in the next 6-12 months!

Boy after reading zerohedge today, I might be talked into shortening the horizon. I also listened to the Bernank on TV. This fucking guy, doesn't get it, doesn't want to get it, and may be the most bullheaded psychopath I have yet to see. A bullheaded psychopath and a leaderless country are not a good mixture. I am gonna do a new post on why the Bernank doesn't get it and why I think he is trying to break the Chinese. I think that... is his game.
