The Used Car Experiment- How the Government and Bankers Secretly Stole 250% From Us
For the past couple of weeks, I've been looking at used cars. Some new ones.
Mostly I am doing this because I am tired of getting my ass kicked every time I fill up my Ford F-250. It costs me about 300 bucks a month in gas just to get around town. Ten bucks a day.
Yesterday, I very nearly bought a used '06 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. I went home, thought about it, and scanned the car ads. I was absolutely blown away at the price of 9 and 10 year old cars. Oddly enough, through October this year, the cost of used cars according to the BLS has risen over 5%.
Let me put this in perspective. In 1978, I bought a used 1971 Dodge Challenger for 1200.00. That meant the car was 7 or 8 years old. I think gas was around .67 a gallon. I wrecked that car six months after I got it because I was an idiot teenager. Now I am an idiot adult.
During my third year of school (1982), I bought a 1974 Ford Galaxie. Ugly fucking car. The Galaxie had a little bit higher miles than the Challenger and it was 8 or 9 years old. It only cost me 800.00.
I've owned a lot of cars in between.
Some 30 years later, I am looking at 9 year old Pontiac Grand Ams for 5000 bucks. The Grand Prix was only 6 years old but it cost 9000.
So what the hell happened? Why does it cost 4000 more dollars today to buy a 9 year old Pontiac Grand Am than it did to buy a 7 year old Dodge Challenger in 1978? Gas is 3.30 a gallon now. Five hundred percent more than 1978.
That is the secret tax. Inflation. Government at all levels- has been increasing actual tax rates. But they don't just settle for that. They have also been inflating away the value of the money you earn. The double whammy. So I surfed over to the Bureau of Labor Statistics and wouldn't you know...the CPI tables going back to 1978 were not available. So I had to use this conversion calculator instead. I plugged in 1000.00 dollars in 1978 and the calculator told me that in 2011 the equivalent amount of cash is 3,472.
http://www.bls.gov/data/inflation_calculator.htm
A paltry 250% loss in buying power. Cumulatively speaking, over those three decades, we are losing about 8% real inflation every year. But wait a minute, doesn't the BLS publish those bullshit statistics minus food and energy that tells us inflation only runs 2-3% a year? Of course they do. Cleverly manipulated data sets that are changed over the years to hide the truth from you. Why? Because all fixed income government retirements and social security cost of living increases are based on CPI. The lower they can manipulate that number- the less they have to pay you. There is one other HUGE thing you should know. CPI does not account for the loss in taxes. Each time a taxing entity raises taxes- it does not land in some basket where that is measured and accounted for. That money is lost- taxes are not taken into account.
Most people don't know this but the BLS used falling home prices to offset the price rise in all other commodities. In fact, they nearly doubled the weighting as it applies to housing costs to something on the order (from memory) of 47%. That's why they can show this ridiculously low inflation rate when all of us are simply getting our asses kicked- week after week in retail outlets, grocery stores, and at the pumps. They even manage to exclude food and energy costs which are through the roof year over year. I am having a difficult time locating a non pdf file to verify the huge weighting the BLS has given housing rents recently after the steep decline in 2008. (They quit using home ownership and switched to rental costs for some ambiguous reason that I am sure suited them)
That's why those little ridiculous cost of living increases are such a joke. They are based on deceptive and fraudulent numbers generated by your government BLS. Tonight I went to my Public Employees Retirement site to see how much our annual cost of living raise was going to be. I was not shocked to see that it was only 1% again this year. That means we lost another 7 or 8% again this year on top of the 7 or 8% we lost last year. So far, two years into the retirement system and I have already managed to lose 15% of my buying power. I am trying to remain grateful.
Perhaps the best part of the BLS site is that they contradict themselves and prove my point. By default they tell you the truth. Not in the month to month numbers, or even in the yearly numbers. That little calculator of theirs- tells the truth. We have had 30 years of 8-9% inflation, not the 2-3% they report annually. That's how we lost 250% worth of buying power since 1978.

President Obama's Third Day In Office in 2009, "My Best Day Is Behind Me"
Obama's approval ratings have dropped like a rock since day two of his presidency. Wow. Here's the day by brutal day account of the lost last three years. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/obama_approval_index_history
The Government Won't Destroy the Constitution, It Will Simply Render It Useless and Silence the Lambs
It's a simple game. Steal all of the money and you impose slavery on your people.
Seven giant mainstream media outlets force feed you a diet of Kim Kardashian, Dancing With the Stars, and new narcissistic diets- and the public is happy.
Then while you aren't looking, these government bastards are stealing your money and delivering it to banker cronies. They are creating giant bureaucracies (TSA) starting new wars, (pick a middle eastern country) and they are busy stealing your freedom. (Patriot Act)
An added bonus. Here's a piece on how your government and bankers, aided by the Patriot Act- allowed illegal aliens to do cash out re-fi's. http://directorblue.blogspot.com/2011/12/report-how-open-borders-policies-led-to.html
Now comes the new National Defense Authorization Act. Quite simply, this law allows military detention of American citizens, without trial and indefinitely. I'm not kidding. No due process. We are talking about citizens that the government "suspects" to be domestic terrorists. In essence that means anyone that speaks out against government can be detained- indefinitely.
Here's what Forbes has to say about it. http://www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2011/12/05/the-national-defense-authorization-act-is-the-greatest-threat-to-civil-liberties-americans-face/
Our government has become master oppressors. As they spend us into oblivion, they seek to instill the fear of God in us by threats of force. Don't pay your taxes and you will go to prison. Speak out against the government (adios freedom of speech) and say hello to indefinite detention as a domestic terrorist.
We have economic slavery. Now this Frankenstein abomination of a government seeks to steal all of our freedom under the guise of "protecting us." The worst part about this? The vast majority, read statists, liberals, and sheep, don't care. They think all of this is just chicken little rhetoric despite the fact that you would have to be Helen Keller not to see this coming.
So while the lambs read about some worthless tart on the msn homepage or try desperately to extend their lives by eating organic food and wearing bicycle helmets...the rest of us will prepare. A vicious fight is about to break out between the wolves who have lulled the sheep to sleep and the wary sheepdogs who are here to protect the sheep.
Damn, I wish they'd get this party started soon- I'm not getting any younger.

School Kids Fighting, Now Referred To As "Sexual Harrassment" By School District
I got in my first fight when I was eight years old. I picked it. A kid named Jimmy Fink beat up a friend of mine. We fought in a dirt lot two blocks away from school. The cops didn't come and if they had- I doubt they would have cared. Nobody got killed and the earth kept rotating on it's axis.
So on a tip from a reader, I read the following story about a seven year old boy who got in a fight and kicked another kid in the balls. I say balls because undoubtedly that is the term the young lad used- despite the fact that his mother mentions the word "testicles." Nobody says testicles except mothers who are speaking to the press. At any rate, the boy is apparently being charged with "sexual harassment" by the school district. http://boston.cbslocal.com/2011/12/02/7-year-old-accused-of-possible-sexual-harassment-for-kicking-boy-in-groin/
Here is wikipedia's definition of sexual harassment. Sexual harassment, is intimidation, bullying or coercion of a sexual nature, or the unwelcome or inappropriate promise of rewards in exchange for sexual favors.
You will note that nowhere in that definition will you find young boys kicking other young boys in the groin. This could either be an oversight by Wikipedia's editors or it may mean in fact- that sexual harassment might not have a damn bit to do with two boys fighting.
I was also completely amazed that they identify this kid and actually use a picture of him in the story. "There is that young testicle kicker, Martha. Get a good look at him and if you see him be sure and cover up your private parts." By the way, where did the press get that photo? It reminds me of the type schools used to take...
You know what I'd like to see? Could we all agree on one standard definition for sexual harassment? Let's agree that sexual harassment should in fact have something to do with sex. This insanity reminds me of the kind of crap cooked up by liberal lawyers- the same type of lawyers that school districts typically hire. They create some broad definition for sexual harassment that nobody else uses, put it in some five pound policy manual somewhere, then haul it out when a couple of seven year old kids get in a fight. Turn a little scrap into a federal offense- one that gets national attention.
Geezus. When we were kids the teachers hauled us into the office, chewed our asses, and called our parents. They called it "fighting" back then. We all pretty much understood what that term meant. After the ass chewing phase, they let us go back to school. Sometimes parents apologized to each other and then subjected us to more ass chewing or perhaps a beating which nobody in their right mind would have referred to as sexual harassment. Double jeopardy be damned. That's how it was.
I'll tell you this much. I'd be afraid to hug another kid on this school's property. They'd probably bring a charge of attempted rape.
Thanks, Todd.

Female, 69, Feeling Holiday Stress- Thinks Hacking Off Husband's Penis Is a Good Idea
A woman was arrested in California (wow, really) for attempting to cut off her husband's penis with a pair of scissors. http://news.yahoo.com/police-calif-wife-tried-sever-husbands-penis-054932178.html
In my old line of work, we called that "mayhem."
Unfortunately, they left the best part of this story out. In the interrogation room, it might have gone something like this. "Now Mrs. Smith, when was the precise moment where your line of reasoning thought hmmm... I think cutting off Mr. Smith's penis sounds like a good idea."
Wouldn't you love to hear that?
Undoubtedly, this woman has children. Let's pray that they are male or that she isn't your wife's mother.
