This is the type of nonsense that happens when you allow public sector employees to unionize. Taxpayer chaos. A quarter million to guard a fucking bridge?

That would never happen in that part of the USA. Scabs are treated harshly.
As a public servant and probably the most anti government government employ (besides you)I try to teach my employees that you need to be conscious of where your salary comes from. You need to ask yourself "Do I give the taxpayer the value he is paying". I really dont know how a taxpayer can say that this service is worth that. But being from the highly unionized midwest, I see how this happens. Watched it my whole life.
I agree wholeheartedly...when I see people making a quarter mill doing absolutely nothing..then it is about time to enjoy the SHTF.
It is no different than your shoe "shine" man telling you to buy equities. If that ever happens to you- liquidate every equity position you have. There are no more buyers!
