"The shame based fear of being ordinary." - The Sunday Collage
This is actually the third piece I have written this week. I'd didn't like the other two.
Each week I consume a couple hundred articles, about 75 blogs, and I usually have a book or two on the side. Mostly what I read online is the same regurgitated crap.
What I truly yearn for is something original. I am so tired of reading the same old schtick, week in- week out. And I figure if I'm tired of the same old schtick- maybe you are too.
This week I began reading a book called "Daring Greatly." I wasn't even 25 pages in and I realized this author had something original to say. Among all of the interesting speculation she offered regarding the growing narcissism in this country, the author mentioned "the shame based fear of being ordinary."
That phrase stopped me dead in my tracks. Like a time machine it took me back to 2008.
Imagine for a moment that you are living in a culture which measures your usefulness as a human being based primarily on how much wealth you can accumulate. That's how we measure your worth. Oh sure, credentials and a little power and prestige certainly help. But the way we measure self worth in America is done with money. That's how we keep score.
Your parents, your relatives and friends, and your adversaries will all measure and judge you the same way. You'll return the favor because you've been taught the same rules.
So what happens to those millions upon millions of people who never measure up to the expectations of their family, friends, and culture or worse yet- fail to live up to their very own expectations?
Do those people who see themselves as failures- do they ever get right? Do they ever get happy?
Yes, I think it's possible given the right set of circumstances.
In 2008 I met a man with two degrees, one a masters degree in engineering. He was a tree trimmer in New Orleans. The night I met him he said he had a promising future behind him. He was no longer bound by the shame of being ordinary. In fact, he loved being ordinary. But in order to celebrate and love being ordinary, he had to set aside all of the faulty beliefs that had been instilled in him- seemingly from birth. That is a whole lot of cultural programming and guilt to shit can. Not a small job.
Then you must set about the task of doing whatever makes you happy and ignoring what others might think of that. Indeed, what others think of you is none of your business anyway.
Years ago when I became a cop, I had all the right reasons. I wanted to help people. I discovered some interesting stuff. Nobody seemed to care. When you worked your ass off, or nearly got killed- nobody cared. Years later when I became the Chief, I saved every dime I could- often returning at least 6 figures back to the city every fiscal year. Nobody cares. In fact, other chiefs and department heads spent every last penny, every year. We all got treated the same. Burn through what they give you- they'll give you more tax money next year.
So doing the right thing within a completely apathetic society is probably over rated. I am going to tell you right now that I know some of those old department heads and they are retired now. They do not sit around and feel guilty for having spent every penny they were authorized to spend.
The point being is that you are the only one responsible for your happiness. You can only do those things which make you happy. You are an idiot to think that anyone else is responsible for your happiness or that others must rely on your for their happiness. That is simply foolish.
Having learned all of those things in the school of hard knocks- meant I no longer had to commit to a body of work wherein nobody really cares how you perform as long as it is simply adequate. Having recognized that harsh reality- I was able to focus on my own happiness rather than trying (and failing) to make others happy. That is the lesson of 25 years of intimate law enforcement.
Today, being ordinary feels pretty damn good. I don't secretly covet others and their possessions. I don't keep score that way. I am not interested in a bigger, nicer car. I like my little bungalow and my Harley. I enjoy my ordinary every day life, my afternoon naps, and the ability to do whatever pleases me without someone demanding that I do more and instilling a little guilt in me.
You know what's different today? Instead of forever wanting, I am grateful for what I have. I simply don't use the old cultural scoring system anymore. It never liked it anyway.

The Criminal Fraud and Theft Commission or... CFTC for Short
Free markets? This one comes under the heading, "Putting frosting on shit and calling it cake." Remember Edward Snowden?
The Commodity Futures and Trading Commission was designed to prevent market manipulation. Quite simply, that mission has become so corrupted over the years that the CFTC could be dismantled tomorrow and I doubt anyone would notice. Markets might actually improve. Secondly, we can have no true price discovery of commodities nor can we really even have an intelligent conversation about manipulated pricing because it's based on a manipulated, "garbage in- garbage out" data stream.
The Commodity Futures and Trading Commission oddly came about in 1974, three short years after President Nixon told France that they could no longer exchange American dollars for physical gold. In so doing, Nixon put the final nail in the coffin for the world's reserve currency. Nixon then cut a deal with Saudi Arabia and thus OPEC, to price oil in dollars- a move which guaranteed that the rest of the world would have to trade their currencies in for our dollars to buy oil. This was a brilliant move. Everyone would need dollars to buy oil. That move has greatly lengthened the lifespan of the dollar and ushered in the era of the petro dollar. That era continues to this day. Barely.
Thus the CFTC was created to regulate futures markets. Or was it? Personally, I think it was a paper tiger- a commission billed as being a regulatory body to make people feel safer- but in actuality the CFTC has become an interferent presence which allows banks and other trading desks to manipulate markets and thus profit from them. JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs have actually gone years without suffering a single day's trading losses. It is mathematically impossible to never suffer a loss while trading every day- the only way you can perform that miracle is if you have been given a license to steal.
Please consider the following statement that was issued after the 2008 banking collapse. Up until that point- nobody had ever heard of such a thing.
Since 1991 the CFTC has given secret exemptions from hedging regulations to 19 major banks and market participants, allowing them to accumulate essentially unlimited positions.[21] These exemptions came to light only after the 2008 financial crisis had unfolded and Congress requested information on market participants. A trader or bank granted an exemption as a bona-fide hedger can affect the price of a commodity without being either its producer or consumer.[22
Is it just me or does that sound as though the CFTC in fact- has no regulatory mission at all? It is simply an illusory mechanism which presents itself as some highly regarded regulatory and oversight body (governed by 4 lawyers and 1 banker, who are all from the banking industry) when in fact- it does neither. It's real mission is to run interference while allowing big trading desks to steal with impunity.

I spent all day trying to find the 19 major banks which have been given licenses to steal but in fact, they are not disclosed anywhere. I think it's a pretty safe bet that banks like Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Bank of America are all part of the scam.
Yesterday, I read a piece on Zerohedge http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-08-04/another-settlement-%E2%80%93-jp-morgan-receives-slap-wrist-despite-years-fraudulent-cftc-dat about a fine that JP Morgan had to pay for giving out fraudulent commitment of traders or COT numbers every week. Today I noted a blog on Dave's site wherein he went into some detail about what a fraudulent scam the COT report is and the fact that all data from all banks is funneled to JPM. Apparently, JP Morgan manipulates that data at will and has been doing so since 2012 or about the time gold started to tank. It's one giant, fraudulent, mess and between the CFTC, a banana republic presidential administration which includes that buffoon Eric Holder- it's as though the rule of law has been suspended at least through 2016.
I don't expect anything to happen until this administration gets shown the door. I think the full scope of criminal intent will eventually be discovered sometime after Obama and his minions can no longer obstruct an investigation.

Homogenizing America- The Sunday Collage
People make mistakes- that's what we do. Every one of us has let other people down or failed to meet another's expectations. We live, we make mistakes, we fail.
Steven Smith is an outspoken broadcaster for ESPN. I don't mind Smith so much although I do find him a little annoying. The point being- that ESPN pays this guy to talk. Sooner or later, guys who talk for a living, are going to say something stupid. So last week, it was Smith's turn. He made the mistake of warning women not to provoke men into a domestic abuse situation. It was really a pretty harmless remark and a little off the target. Women get pissed when they hear other men sympathizing with or enabling abusive men by demonizing their perceived "victims." I know a little bit about all of that. At any rate, Smith who gets paid to talk, was force fed a shit sandwich for his remarks. That might be punishment enough, but Smith went on to utter a sincere apology. ESPN then saw fit to suspend Smith for a week so they could distance themselves and let the viewing world know that they are responsible employers. It was a chicken shit thing to do.

Making a mistake an uttering an apology used to be the end of trivial incidents such as this. Not any more.
In America, we have a "victim" culture. We have an entire class of "victims" who will proclaim they are victims whenever they perceive something that they believe is wrong. Unfortunately, the side effects of this victim mob mentality are that the rest of us are polarized and homogenized. As a clear minority, standing up to a victim mob could lead to your untimely death- or in Smith's case the unemployment line. On the other hand, ESPN could have done the right thing but clearly they felt the hot breath of the victim mob on the nape of their neck. So they chose the coward's route, the homogenized path, and they suspended Smith for a week. I guess that covers all their bases.
Responsible people understand that claiming "victim" status for yourself or your friends ensures self pity, whining, and inaction. Responsible people understand that the problem in any situation is themselves and their perceptions. In other words, if I have a wife who cheats on me...who's fault is that? If I have a job that pays poorly, who's fault is that? Once I discover that I am the problem, and that I have made poor choices, it is my job to make better decisions. In that way, I do not wallow in self pity, I have nothing to whine about, and I set about a course of action to improve my life.
Very often, I speak in public settings. I frequently use profanity because that is a part of who I am. I could probably change that- but I choose not to do so. Occasionally, someone will object to my speech (I am a victim of your speech) and make some hint or statement that they wish I would clean that up. Or that using profanity cheapens my message.
These are victim homogenizers. These are people with thin skins just looking for any opportunity to claim victim status, poor me types. Often these people are under the illusion that they alone know how the rest of the world should act and behave. They want everyone to behave according to their unwritten or undisclosed set of instructions. They want to homogenize our culture into some innocuous breed of people who all think and act alike. Or perhaps, they don't see that as the obvious by-product.
The problem with turning the microphone over to the "victim" class is that the victim class is growing- it is not shrinking. In fact, I think responsible people are becoming a minority if they aren't already.
The other problem is that intelligent and responsible people will not stand up to the victim class. They see no useful purpose in that. It will only create conflict they think, because you cannot reason with an idiot. Therefore, the victims feel empowered and emboldened. Without any obstruction the homogenizers can whine to their hearts content about every perceived wrong in the world- real or imagined- and continue their very best to turn us all into the plain vanilla culture that they so desire.
The worst example of this? Donald Sterling, the LA Clippers, and that class of people who believe that stripping you of your property and seizing it is acceptable behavior because you made some very minor and private- disparaging remarks about blacks.
Forgive me for stating the obvious truth here- but there is no bigger "victim" class than this country's liberals. These are the people who whine about everything. Just listen to them. They whine about "life isn't fair", they still blame Bush for everything wrong in America, they even whine about the pro football team which is named the "Washington Redskins." I like America, un homogenized train wreck that we are. So...
Don't be afraid to push back a little with these assholes. Don't embolden the victim class. I am pretty good about picking my battles. I have publicly humiliated a couple of these self absorbed types when they throw some pity party wherein they are always the victim. They never do anything wrong.
It takes a little courage to stand up and say, ya know Steve Smith might not have said the best thing the other day- since then he has uttered a sincere apology and we're good with that. You should be too.
Beyond that, I have grown weary of the victim class telling me what to say, how to behave, and when they don't get their way- tattling to my employer or trying to appeal their case to some higher authority. What a bunch of pussies we've become. Recognize these whiners for who they are (cowards) and let them have it once in awhile. Slow them down a bit.

She Smells Like Toast To Me- The Sunday Collage
Today's post probably should probably be rated R. It's the subject matter.
The Clintons have always fascinated me. Birds of a feather- flock together.
In a nation run by criminals, the Clintons seem a logical fit. We have Bill- a compulsive liar, drug and sex addict- a man who helped ruin this country by removing banking reform laws like Glass-Steagall. His wife Hillary is a sociopath and a lesbian. I've got nothing against lesbians- even though we've always competed for the same prize. I don't even really care whether or not this country gets it's first lesbian President. The problem isn't being a lesbian; it's living a lifelong lie and pretending that you are the matriarch of some "all American family" because you desperately want to be the first female President. The normalcy lie becomes a politically convenient narrative for your lifelong ambitions.
There is no question in my mind that Hillary hates men and cops in particular. She is an elitist and a lawyer, a person who believes she is well above the purview of any law. And so far- she has proven that to be correct. Yet, I don't think Hillary has a snowball's chance in hell of becoming President.
Please don't misunderstand me. Just because she has no chance in hell does not mean she will not attempt another run. People who covet something greatly- do not go away easily. Don't think that I am discounting the collective stupidity of our country either- a country that voted for Obama- twice.
I have a pretty good grip on who Hillary is. My fascination with the Clintons runs deep.
Many years ago, I was reading a piece about Bill Clinton's 12 year love affair with Gennifer Flowers while he was the Governor of Arkansas. The article I was reading was about a neighbor of Gennifer's, a man who videotaped the comings and goings of Bill Clinton, who actually stated he had a library of proof in the form of video tapes. Do I believe him? Yes I do, although I don't like this version of the story much. Let me put it this way. I give this unknown man more credibility than I do a known and proven liar such as Bill Clinton.
Then there was this piece about Clinton and a cocaine overdose which I absolutely believe. I also believe the part where Hillary threatened the attending staff in the E.R. that night. Bill Clinton was once the Attorney General of Arkansas. That means that he was the chief law enforcement in the state of Arkansas while having his adulterous affair with Gennifer Flowers, snorting cocaine, and extorting money in the Whitewater scandal. Susan McDougal, the woman who refused to testify against the Clintons when Whitewater finally went public- eventually went to prison and was later granted a pardon by then President Bill Clinton.
You cannot make this shit up. The scandals never end with these two. Cattle futures bribery, Vince Foster, Travelgate, shaking down Marc Rich's wife for a few million in exchange for a pardon, stealing White House furniture, Benghazi. I know I'm missing a few more. The odd thing is- is that these are just the scandals we know about. Makes you wonder what we don't know about...doesn't it?
The Benghazi episode was the last nail in the coffin for Hillary. It was the last gasp of a sick and tired old woman. Letting Christopher Stevens die and blaming it on a You Tube video was just another national lie brought to you in political concert by the morons who attempt to lead this country. It remains to be seen whether Hillary will evade taking responsibility for Benghazi but judging by all of her past performances- it appears justice will be stood up once again.
Hillary's book, "Hard Choices" has not sold well because quite frankly, nobody cares about Hillary anymore.
Hillary Clinton does not represent the American people. She never has. She has been a privileged, entitled, ambitious woman who is completely self absorbed. Hillary is an angry, pathological liar who has lived a lie her entire life and that lie is unraveling. I think the American public, uninformed dumb shits that they are (but we vote!) might just be getting sick of Hillary without even performing the usual, casual, and superficial due diligence that they perform prior to any election. Unlike the completely unknown real life of Barack Obama, Hillary's life appears to be pretty much an open book at this point. In a way it's kind of sad. I'd hate to live a lie my entire life and if I did- to be denied the prize for all of that pathological planning- that's a cold shower I'd never want to take.
There's not a chance in hell that Hillary will become President. I'm not sure who she appeals to anymore. Maybe gay rights activists or angry, uninformed women. Maybe older, elite folks and the usual democratic base. Perhaps those idiot Republicans can come up with another crappy candidate and help her along. Even with all those things...I just don't see it.
When I was a kid, every once in awhile bread would get jammed into our toaster and burnt to a crisp. We all know what happens to burnt toast. Somehow I see that as metaphor for all things Hillary Clinton right now. And even if I'm wrong and the Gods hate us- can you imagine all the nasty stuff that would happen with Hillary as el presidente'? It would be a tsunami of shit. I'd probably have to start a whole new blog.
The Clintons have always fascinated me. Birds of a feather- flock together.

I've got nothing against lesbians- even though we've always competed for the same prize. I don't even really care whether or not this country gets it's first lesbian President. The problem isn't being a lesbian; it's living a lifelong lie and pretending that you are the matriarch of some "all American family" because you desperately want to be the first female President. The normalcy lie becomes a politically convenient narrative for your lifelong ambitions.
There is no question in my mind that Hillary hates men and cops in particular. She is an elitist and a lawyer, a person who believes she is well above the purview of any law. The Original "Tree of Liberty" Letter, Jefferson
I read an excellent piece on American Thinker today regarding the destruction of our Constitution. Of course they couldn't just rip the document up instead they will incrementally render it useless. Obama care was a shining example of that. Here then is the original letter from Jefferson. Interesting. Things just never seem to change much.
