As the United States devolves into our new brand of mob rule democracy which ignores liberty and the rule of law, I have never seen our country more divided. Commenters everywhere seem to practice contempt prior to investigation. Facts are ignored because the statists won or because they are inconvenient. We have four more years to serve on this sentence and as we do, I have noticed that the liberal hordes all seem to speak the same language. The language of smart assery littered with euphemisms.
Of course, that type of speech is never meant to be constructive. It's just the vitriol of a classless group of people who cannot have an intelligent discussion about any thing that disagrees with their atheistic view of the world. They are completely disrespectful of anybody's view of the world unless they hold the identical view.
I have given up any hope of trying to spark some rational thought or an intelligent discussion with these people.
Don't get me wrong. I don't care for the elite right- or the conservative oligarch either. But conservatives at least have some respect and decency. They don't run around spewing vitriol every time you point out some inconvenient truth like perhaps killing the unborn- should take a higher priority than recycling grocery bags.
For those of you who need a refresher, I nabbed this definition of "euphemism." A euphemism is a generally innocuous word or expression used in place of one that may be found offensive or suggest something unpleasant.[1] Some euphemisms are intended to amuse, while others use bland, inoffensive, and often misleading terms for things the user wishes to dissimulate or downplay. Euphemisms are used for dissimulation, to refer to taboo topics (such as disability, sex, excretion, and death) in a polite way, and to mask profanity. The opposite of euphemism roughly equates to dysphemism.
Euphemisms are part of the passive aggressive speech pattern that liberals employ. At first it comes off like high brow snobbery and indeed, it has some of that flavor. It is steeped in ego. Liberals employ euphemisms mainly because they are cowardly and they enjoy ridiculing their "perceived" enemies. I think maybe it gives them some feeling of superiority.
Thus the grand "human evolution" continues.
I used to try and reason with these assholes. But like rabid dogs, you can't talk sense with liberals. You have to beat them with clubs. They don't understand that mob rule democracy will destroy our nation. They actually think they are "winning" and that they have the answer. That level of unconsciousness is fascinating. By the time these sleepwalkers wake- we will have lost every liberty that we have ever gained. Our laws will have laws and Obamcare will look like Cliff's Notes. We might as well apologize to King George, pay our back taxes, and go home. What the hell were we thinking?
And there they'll be...the great progressives...saying cagey things like "we won" and "deal with it."
You are entitled to your beliefs and your opinions. You should be able to express them without ridicule. This used to be a free country well....until the collectivists got hold of it.
In the end of course, the liberals will reap what they sow. And being the cowards that they are- they will blame anyone other than themselves when harvest time arrives. Soon we shall all be slaves of the state.
I can hardly wait. "Deal with it" I will tell them.

Save the SS United States!
I couldn't help noticing these two stories today about an old ship called the "SS United States." One here: http://www.thereporteronline.com/article/20130325/LIFE01/130329728/historic-ocean-liner-uss-united-states-in-philadelphia-short-on-funds-time
And then one from the liberals with a new photo here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/25/ss-united-states_n_2948010.html
We have this once great ship, rusting away in an eastern harbor. I couldn't help but notice the similarities between that ship and our country. What should we do?
When automakers and banks are going belly up- we bail them out. Why would we stop there?
In keeping with established themes- here is what I think we should do.
First we need a government takeover. Then we should drag this heap over to the Pacific Rim where we can refurbish it with taxpayer subsidized workers earning a dollar an hour. After we burn through a billion or two- we can then return the ship to America. We will sell government subsidized cruises on it complete with working toilets. We can create 1000 or so jobs- and we can even have a small army of TSA workers patting down passengers before they board.
Of course the ship will never turn a profit but that isn't the point. We can feel good about ourselves. Isn't that the real point?
I think we should re-christian the ship, the "USS Obama." Like everything the government does, whether it's Social Security, the Dept. of Energy or Obamacare- we will never be able to get rid of this ship. It makes perfect sense to me.

The Monday Morning Re Cap
I had a couple of ideas this week for the Sunday Collage.
"Ubi libertas habitat ibi nostra patria est" [Where liberty dwells, there is my country]
I have been glued to this Cyprus bankruptcy deal. Stealing peoples' money always fascinates me. Late last night, the bankers decided to steal 40% of all deposits in excess of 100,000 euros. The banking troika then extended Cyprus another 10 billion. Germany's leader hailed the bailout as a great thing.
Stealing money from the rich is all the rage right now. And so... the grand banking fraud continues.
I watched the market go up and metals sell off this morning. That activity has since reversed. The dutch prime minister is now calling Cyprus the blueprint for how the rest of the eurozone should conduct business.
So let this be a warning rich bastards. Don't make money. It's evil and they'll just take it from you anyway.
A great analogy was drawn this morning about Cyprus and the United States. A floor trader stated that our government and the Fed have been taxing and stealing money from US "savers" by reducing interest rates to zero for the last four years. The trader saw no difference between Cyprus stealing customer savings accounts and what the US has done. Same thing he contends.
On that theme- the government is still trying to tax internet sales. They are also questioning Lichtenstein bankers and trying to find US tax dodgers there. You almost get this feeling of desperation as you read the news. Like maybe our government is broke.
JP Morgan, the government's bank, is still in the news for all of the crooked shit they pull.
The state of Texas has announced this morning that they are considering building a gold repository. That kind of forward thinking is enviable. Texas even talks about seceding from the U.S. from time to time. If it did, I would move there in a heartbeat.
Gonzaga got taken to the woodshed and was the first number one seed to get ousted from the NCAA basketball tournament. Nobody was less shocked than me. Every time the catholics get in, they make a quick exit. I have a good friend, a huge Gonzaga supporter, who has suddenly gone missing. He is not even answering texts.
Lasalle whipped Boise St to get in the tourney and they are kicking some ass. I really thought Boise St. was a better team and had a tougher schedule but LaSalle is proving that they are very good. I think they might even get in the elite eight but I can't see them in the final four.
So my apologies. I have plumbing to fix and I think I am going to play golf and ride my motorcycle this week as temperatures rise to 70. Gold and silver have almost totally recovered from their losses as I write.
Google trading for 820 bucks, Whirlpool at 117 a share...how can you miss?

Living In a Fool's Paradise
Kind of a mixed bag in the world of news so far today.
This morning in a Bloomberg news story, I read that JP Morgan is releasing the funds it seized from bankrupt MF Global. Account holders who lost all of their money will get back about 93% minus the loss of investing power one gets from possessing your own money since Halloween day, 2011.
So there's that. I have never been surprised that the government's bank, JP Morgan, was at the heart of the MF Global scandal. They continue to be the greatest criminal enterprise in America- second only to Congress. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-03-20/mf-global-inc-trustee-reaches-agreement-with-jpmorgan.html
Freddie Mac is also suing JP Morgan, the criminal enterprise, over manipulating libor rates. Another shocker. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-03-19/freddie-mac-sues-multiple-banks-over-libor-manipulation.html
The worst story of the day. http://news.yahoo.com/worker-admits-cutting-10-babies-abortion-clinic-171908888.html
Unlike perennial stock cheerleader Warren Buffett, legendary investor Jim Rogers has now declared that we are living in a "fools paradise." I giggled when I read that. There are a lot of people that agree and many of them are pointing to some very dark clouds on the horizon. This is an excellent article that explains why. http://moneymorning.com/ob-article/jim-rogers-major-crash-ahead.php?p=PPYRP206&utm_campaign=content&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=taboola#.UUlYdBz5knY
Gold bug Jim Sinclair says the bottom is in for gold at 1600. He does not believe it will retrace below those levels. http://kingworldnews.com/kingworldnews/KWN_DailyWeb/Entries/2013/3/14_One_Of_Legendary_Jim_Sinclairs_Boldest_Predictions_Ever.html
I have gold down 4 bucks at 1607 in the futures market but I think that may reverse. Equity futures are much higher because that ten billion in POMO money the FED has handed out since last Friday has to go somewhere. Just a paltry ten thousand million.
Dow futures up 65. The media never mentions POMO. Today they say the markets are up and breathing a sigh of relief over Cyprus as they try to find Plan B.
Equities are still ridiculously priced.
Whirlpool, that sexy-high growth appliance company, only trading at 116 bucks a share.
One of my favorite short selling ideas is Boeing. Even after losing a 220 jet order to rival Airbus, union unrest, sweeping away the Dreamliner bad news, and trading near it's top at the 86 dollar mark- how much higher can it go? It has already more than doubled off the 09 lows.
A lot of ripe fruit in the fools paradise.

When Did Telling The Truth Become a Crime?
This video is about Bradley Manning. The embedded video shows a group of unarmed civilians being slaughtered by U.S. aerial forces. About twelve of them. US forces even shot the rescuers.
The original story here. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/apr/05/wikileaks-us-army-iraq-attack
So Manning leaked the truth about this slaughter to Wikileaks (after the Army lied about it) and kept a copy of this video. He faces life in prison. The vid is about 5 mins. I first saw it here: http://libertyblitzkrieg.com/2013/03/19/providence-an-incredible-5-minute-film-by-laura-poitras/
The worst part about this? Manning is just a kid. I'm not even sure that morally- he did anything wrong- and now he faces life in prison. The original story. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/apr/05/wikileaks-us-army-iraq-attack

The Bastards Keep Winning- The Sunday Collage
Oh how I used to love St. Patrick's Day. It's like Fat Tuesday- Butte, Montana style.
On March 17 of each year, the town of Butte is transformed into a sea of drunken debauchery. It has been that way my entire life and this weekend will be no different. Butte owes it's St. Patrick's Day revelry and roots to the mining industry and it's copper kings. Most notably Marcus Daly- the copper king who for decades hired the Irish and killed the Irish in some of the most unsafe working conditions ever conceived. Amidst all of that working and dying, the Irish found time to drink. They always found time to drink. In Butte, the bars just like the mines, stayed open every hour of the day and night.
History is not always kind to the good men nor do the willfully arrogant always get what they sow.
When you are paying people 3 dollars a day and you have an unlimited amount of workers, in some cavalier and sociopathic sort of way, people (particularly immigrants) become disposable. This was not lost on those immigrant miners working twelve hour days, six days a week, and watching as their friends died of black lung and their widows went without. This tends to anger any man and it certainly had a cumulative effect on Butte's miners. Eventually the "copper kings" sold out and died off and the Anaconda Company was born. By the time WWI and 1917 rolled around, while the Anaconda elite made millions- they had also proposed a pay cut for the miners just as copper prices soared. That level of "in your face greed" lit a fuse. The company (I never heard it referred to in any other fashion) used people in the same disposable ways that it's predecessors had with an added pinch of ruthlessness. In fact, the Anaconda Company might have been the most lawless, criminal enterprise of it's kind.
It all came to a head in the summer of 1917. There is a fantastic book (rated 4.8 stars out of 5) about Butte and that disaster. http://www.amazon.com/Fire-Brimstone-North-Mining-Disaster/dp/1401308899
Butte became the "Gibralter of Unionism." You probably owe what work benefits you still cling to- in some measure- to the efforts of a bunch of immigrant miners and their unions. Once unions were embraced- the bar was raised for corporations with competing interests. They had to get competitive or lose workers. Workers began receiving benefits, defined work and vacation hours, safety measures, overtime pay.
In Butte for many years, the Anaconda Company employed "rustling cards." These cards were used to identify and blacklist miners. They were a dossier on potential employees and they were hated. I have actually seen a few of these cards. Perhaps they were the predecessor to today's references and job history.http://www.butteamerica.com/labor.htm
In many respects, the working world really hasn't changed all that much. A few things have changed. Government is by far the largest employer now. Human resources, litigation and law have taken over where most unions left off. We have taken credentialing to ridiculous heights. The government, bankers, and universities routinely exploit students seeking the means and the education to increase their lot in life. Companies skim the best and the brightest students and demand steadfast loyalty. They want obedient slaves- not independent thinkers. In time, corporations will eventually reduce every fringe benefit that they can in order to enlarge margins. They can't really kill you anymore. They just dump you onto the government unemployment dole. Or offshore your job to one of 2 billion Chinese workers willing to work for one dollar an hour.
It's always been about greed and money. Always. It was that way in 1917 and it is still that way in 2013. The bastards just keep winning.
So who are these elite bastards?
The bastards are a class of people who understand how to exploit labor. They pay people just as cheaply as they can while reaping enormous profits for themselves. They are never concerned with anyone other than themselves really- although they will pretend to care about workers because civility and propriety demand it and they must continually recruit and attract new workers as they dispose of old ones. Having garnered huge fortunes- they occasionally fling a few crusts of bread to some charity here or there. They use charities to enshrine themselves. Buildings are built for them, often christened with their name. They claim to be great humanitarians but that's not who they are. They are simply people who happened upon a great opportunity and seized it. They then extract the maximum amount of wealth that they can- any way that they can. They always have a few key people who surround them and facilitate their wealth gathering. Those people are handsomely rewarded and often act as professional cheerleaders and ego guards. They deflect any criticism.
I have always known this. It was a gift bestowed upon me by the son of miners in 1971. It was by far and to this day, the most important lesson I have ever learned.
Many folks don't know that the the copper industry, the Anaconda Company and their owner/ manipulators, played a huge role in fleecing America just prior to, and perhaps actually caused, the great depression. From Wiki:
Cornelius Kelley, or "Mr. Anaconda" was no saint. But that biography will have to wait for another time.
Is there an alternative to the greed based, capitalistic working model that enslaves most of us? Yes Virginia my dear, I believe there is.
Years ago, I stumbled onto an extraordinary business model. It was a model wherein the owner/operator of a company paid himself the exact same salary as his 6 other workers. All of their salaries were based on their mutual success and they were all paid exactly the same amount and they worked similar hours. Each had a specific job to do- and they all agreed upon this socialized business model. Because nobody was taking a lion's share of the profits- all of them made very good money. I would dearly love to find that company and find out if the business model went well or if not, how it failed. I remember thinking at the time that I stumbled onto it- that someone had finally found a way to succeed without exploiting others. Here's the socialist business model that operates in much the same way as the business I just described. http://www.openforum.com/idea-hub/topics/money/article/a-look-at-a-more-socialist-business-model-1/
Today in Butte, a bunch of drunken lunatics will take to the streets in uptown Butte. They will drink green beer, listen to the bands play, watch the kids try to grab a greased pig. Many do not know or perhaps care, that they are dancing amidst the history of this country. This is where the elite and the uneducated working stiffs squared off for a brief moment in time in the 1910's. A lot of people were killed in uptown Butte and they are mostly forgotten now. Heroes don't always triumph. The sons of miners taught me that when the good guys lose...
... often, the bastards just keep winning.

Many folks don't know that the the copper industry, the Anaconda Company and their owner/ manipulators, played a huge role in fleecing America just prior to, and perhaps actually caused, the great depression. From Wiki:
Great speculation
In 1928 Ryan and Percy Rockefeller aggressively speculated on Anaconda shares, causing them to go up at first (when they sold) and then to go down (when they buy them back). Known today as a "pump and dump", at the time it was not illegal, and was actually quite common. The prices, under the pressure of a "joint account" set up by Ryan and Rockefeller of nearly a million and a half shares of Anaconda Copper Company, fluctuated from $40 in December, 1928 to $128 in March 1929.
Smaller investors were completely wiped out. The results are still considered one of the great fleecings in Wall Street history. The American Senate hearings concluded that those operations cost the public, at the very least, $150 million. A 1933 Senate banking committee called these operations the greatest frauds in American banking history and a leading cause of the 1930s depression.[citation needed]
[edit]Great Depression
In 1929 Anaconda Copper Mining Co. issued new stock and used some of the money to buy shares of speculative companies. When the market crashed on Oct. 29, 1929, Anaconda suffered serious financial setbacks. Moreover, at the same time, copper prices started going down dramatically. During the winter of 1932-33 copper prices had dropped to $0.103 per kg, down from an average of $0.295 per kg only two years earlier.
The Great Depression took its toll with massive unemployment in both the United States and Chile (up to 66 percent unemployment rate in the Chilean mines). On March 26, 1931, Anaconda cut its dividend rate 40%. John D. Ryan died in 1933 and was buried in a copper coffin. His mighty Anaconda shares, once worth $175 each, had dropped to $4 at the bottom of the Great Depression. Cornelius Kelley became the Chairman in 1940.
Cornelius Kelley, or "Mr. Anaconda" was no saint. But that biography will have to wait for another time.
